  PS 96 - The Richard Rodgers School of the Arts has officially launched a new school app to transform communication for students and families!
  
  The school app is now available to download on iOS™, Android™, and Windows™ devices. The school app gives parents, students, faculty, and staff the ability to stay connected and informed about what’s happening at PS 96X The Richard Rodgers School. From in-app translations to push notifications for urgent messages, we know this will be an impactful addition to our communication!

• Engage, Educate, and Empower Families

  This past Wednesday, our wonderful Parent Coordinator, Ms. Muniz, hosted a successful virtual D11 Engage, Educate and Empower Family Night!  She had over 70 families join and make their very own lava lamps at the comfort of their homes.

• Family Movie Night!

  PS96  and our Parent Association hosted our very first family movie night and it was a huge success! 350 people attended the event and enjoyed Monsters Inc. under the stars in our schoolyard.

• Fourth Grade Food Drive

  Fourth grade students engaged in a grade level food drive for Thanksgiving. Students donated den dollars towards the purchase of a non-perishable item, which were purchased by the grade level teachers.  For example, 1 Den$ = 1 canned good; 2 Den $s = a box of pasta, etc.  What an amazing way to embrace gratitude and giving this holiday season!

• S.T.E.A.M. Gala

  What an amazing afternoon we had at our First Annual S.T.E.A.M. Gala!  219 families spent the afternoon visiting classes and seeing the amazing projects created during prep classes and in clubs.   Judging by the smiles on everyone's faces, the afternoon was a huge success!

• Soap Box Derby!

  The Wolfpack took 3rd overall at the very first District 11 Soap Box Derby!  The team was led by Ms. O'Sullivan and supported by Ms. Oquendo.  These scholars planned, designed, and built the car as part of their after school club.  It was an amazing experience for all involved.

• Council Member Oswald Feliz Visits 96!

  Council Member Oswald Feliz toured our wonderful school and presented Mrs. Vetere with a $200,000 check to help enhance the school’s outside space for our wonderful scholars! We’re HOWLing with gratitude for Council Member Feliz and Mr. Wells, our PTA Vice President, for their work in helping to secure these funds.
